RE: Portable hard drives

I have Western Digital 250GB that I just recently purchased. I also have a 160GB Maxtor that I have had for at least 5 years. No problems with either, they are great! The Western Digital is what I use with my laptop (mine) and the Maxtor is used with the desktop (DH).

RE: camping near gainesville, florida

Paynes Prarie State Park, south of UF on 441. I almost sure it will be full due to the game but you may get lucky. Do a search for campgrounds in Alachua which is north of G'ville. Good Luck!

RE: Advice on new truck?

Experience is a great teacher. We USED to have a F250 with the 5.4 and now have the diesel and no problems with pulling anything. 75% on this board have had to upgrade due to not enough pulling power. Get more truck than you will need so you can always move up to a larger camper.

RE: MacBook as Wireless hub

I have a friend that bought his sprint aircard and then bought a cradlepoint wireless router, I think, so he plugs his card into the router. He then can get online with all 3 of his computers if he wants, normally his laptop and PC.

RE: Changing a Family Traditon

You will love camping at Thanksgiving and if the grown children don't like it then let them cook their own, don't mean no disrespect but Healthy Choice makes a great turkey dinner. Thanksgiving just isn't like it used to be many, many years ago when the women stayed in the kitchen and cooked for hours while the men folk sat around watching football. LOL! Go for the new tradition!

RE: Did Fay damage your RV?

The FW, boat and motorcycle trailer still in the pole barn. We got alot of wind yesterday and rain. We were without power from 4PM until midnight last night. Luckily we have the generator so we were able to watch tv last night until bedtime. We got at least 7 inches of rain and it's still coming down. Overall, we got lucky considering what it could of been like.

RE: Camping Alone

We don't camp alone but DH, he's retired, goes out early to the campsite, sets up and relaxes. We have a group that normally camps together and one of the other couples are half-retired and half-working also so they do the same thing. I guess that is what happens when one spouse is "older" than the younger wife who is still working. He does have help breaking camp which to me is worse. I just leave work and go straight to the campground. I don't have a problem with it. One of our favorite campgrounds is closer than home anyway.

RE: bluetooth headset with long boom

I have had the plantronics for some time and really like it. Unless the AC vent is blowing on it, listeners normally are surprised to find I am driving, whether in the car or rig. I find with the more compact bluetooth headsets, there is often feedback and the person on the other end can hear themselves.
I second the plantronics. Great for driving!

RE: Please flush

I am glad I am not the only one that gets grossed out with the pig sty left in restrooms.
That's why we bought a trailer with it's own bathroom.
If your trailer has a bathroom why on earth are using the one at the campground? :h
I am wondering the same thing?
It has been so long since I was in a campground bathroom I don't remember what they look like!
On the other hand, I am quite familiar with the one in our TT, as I shower in it every morning and use it for any other necessary purposes whenever necessary.:B
I was speaking in general terms. I have my potty and always use it, unless get caught short!

RE: Full Timing and Health Insurance

My .02...a friend retired from the school system with insurance from BCBS. Everything went fine and then she moved to Georgia. Apparently when she moved to GA from FL her BCBS will only pay 60% because she is out of state and the doctors are out of network. I really think that stinks because she is still paying her part of the insurance with the school system kicking in $150 a month. She only found that out after she had bought a place in GA. I guess we will have to read the very small print on everything. That would not of crossed my mind but it happened.
